Mr Matthias K Russ specialises in treating injuries and arthritis of the hip and knee, and orthopaedic trauma. He has particular expertise in performing anterior hip replacement, a procedure increasing in popularity for its potential for less pain, faster recovery and improved mobility, and robotic-assisted knee replacement.

Matthias is focused on each patient receiving the best treatment plan for their individual needs – including conservative treatment, minimally invasive surgery (arthroscopy), reconstructive surgery and joint replacement – to achieve long-term pain relief, natural movement and maximum function.

Matthias’ private consulting rooms are in Malvern, Victoria, and he also consults at Ontario Medical Clinic, Mildura. He operates privately at Cabrini Malvern and Mildura Private Hospital.

Matthias’ medicolegal practice is based in Melbourne and serves clients throughout Australia. Matthias provides timely, comprehensible and meaningful reports informed by extensive clinical experience and current practice in orthopaedic trauma and elective orthopaedic surgery.

Medicolegal services include written opinions and case assessments for Independent Medicolegal Examinations (IMEs), Joint Medical Examinations (JMEs), Supplementary Reports, and Medical Negligence Claims. Matthias is an AMA4 Accredited Assessor for Upper Limb, Lower Limb, and Spinal impairments, and a WorkSafe, TAC and Wrongs Impairment Act Assessor. Assessments may be performed in-person or via Telehealth.
